If a directory has 4 files in it that have file extensions of .1, and a find command is issued targeting those files msdos reports no files found. The specific command I used was: find /i "begin" *.1 The specific files were part of Mike Arst's u-sedit.zip package found on the simtel mirrors. Interestingly, an analogous grep command didn't fail. //eoj UNIX is user friendly, it's just selective as to who its friends are. jude
