One thing about share - some version of MSDOS needed share to fix disk
access in addition to file sharing; could it be that the software is
giving the "share" warning when in fact it is another problem?  And I
think MS Word 6 needs files=80 or something like that in config.sys -
anybody remember (or know what I'm getting confused with??)

While I'm admitting to being confused, I've forgotten the details of
how OpenDOS/Novell DOS differ from MSDOS in stacks and fcbs in
config.sys; I think there is some rule-of-thumb about setting these up
(I've simply set them as habit now, but maybe they default okay??)

Any clues gratefully accepted.
