However, after about two or three file calls by Word something goes screwy and it thinks the drive is copy protected or full or too many files are open. Also Word starts producing temporary files like crazy with no data in them. Now if I use a MS-dos boot disk and the himem.sys and emm386 in that comes with windows I have no problems. Does anyone know if the problem lies in the memory managers or is it something more fundamental? [I wonder because it looks like a file system problem, but it doesn't affect the notepad or MS-Write apperantly or even IE 3.02a..] If it is the memory managers there is a simply work around.. if not I think I'll take lilo and set it up so I can boot MS-DOS off of my second drive ... sure laugh... I spent two years booting dos off of the D drive cause I was too lazy to fdisk /mbr the c: drive..
