MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Precedence: bulk Since OD is being distributed on the net now, I think that a slightly different "package" format might be more appropriate. Since not everyone wants/needs everything that is in OD, I think it might be beneficial to create "packages" such like Slackware does, or other distributions of Linux. This way one could download: 1) Core OS and base files 2) Utility package 3) Extra utilities 4) Accessibility package 5) GUI package (GEM?) 6) Netware package 7) TCP/IP networking package 8) Internet client package 9) ??? Internet server package??? 10) Source code for #1 11) Source code for #2 12) Source code for #n.... etc.... What does everyone think about this idea? Remember that if the distribution is broken up like that, that there could also still be a master distribution which included everything in a 4Gig zip file for those that want it. :o) Lets hear some feedback.
