Besides when is the last time > you saw a DOS filename with two dots ('.') in the filename? :o) Agreed, no-one distributes DOS software as .tar.gz without also providing the opportunity to download it in a .zip. However, I often find that .tar.gz files are smaller than the corresponding .zip, so use them for my own archives.
