Well, the best place you might want to check is DJGPP - DJ Delorie's port of GNU C compiler. See http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/ for more information. You will find it on SimTel in /gnu/djgpp/v2* directories (sources will be in /v2gnu). But I'm not sure whether they are something to "play" with. They are really big (10MB+ if memory serves) and complex. You might also want to check the Free Compilers List on the WEB.
