I don't have anything against the creation of a newsgroup, per se,
but I would humbly request to the powers-that-be that the mailing
list not be dismantled, at least for the next few months.

If the newsgroup goes ahead soon it would be really nice for me if
the mailing list could mirror it (like the djgpp mailing list).  I
don't have easy access to newsgroups at the moment, and if this
group switched completely to a newsgroup, it would take me out of
the loop for a month or two.
