My Toshiba IDE CDROM drive could not be seen in OPENDOS until I turned on security. Another funky thing was that when I did turn on security my CMOS got confused about my harddrive settings(thought it was an LBA drive when it is a NORMAL drive) and the error did not go away until I turned security off.
