Yes, some hardware CD-ROM drivers have several (sometimes undocumented) options to configure audio-support (stereo, mono, etc.), maybe this applies to your driver as well. NWCDEX nor MSCDEX have no such option (and won't need it). Hm, maybe you try the latest NWCDEX 2.81 from the Novell DOS update 15/2. This could help.
