College kids, for example, battles over EMACS and vi, while they use NOTEPAD in Windows when no one is looking. It simply sounds cool to brag about their knowledge of EMACS or vi. The only thing that you can believe is testimonials like this: "I installed both the EMACS and Vim on my machine, but I find myself firing up Vim every time I want to edit a file." -- Weiqi Gao weiqigao AT crl DOT com
