bash is available for DOS allready.  It is a 32 bit DJGPP port in
the DJGPP dir of any DJGPP mirror.

No, not at all.  Wouldn't want it as my primary shell in DOS
though.  (Wouldn't want COMMAND.COM as my primary shell in Linux
in retrospect either though)

Minix is a UNIX operating system that would run on 286's and
possibly even 8088's if I'm not mistaken.  It had its own
filesystem as well. Linux was originally designed (in Linus's own
words) to "be a better Minix than Minix".

LINUX: What changed from 2.0.27 to 2.0.28?  I don't notice anything.
