Yes, however that requires that you are both: looking at the particular console waiting for the command to finish, the drive is synced automatically by the command, and you actually pay that much attention and don't remove the disk. The problem is that I ALWAYS REMOVE DISKS! I want to be able to continue doing it to. Just like in DOS. No sync/wait/prompt mayhem, no remembering "I gotta wait and type this, and that". I just want to type "cp whatever /a/", then when the light goes off, I remove the disk. I just wish I could figure out if it is possible/how to do it. Mike A.
