The whole topic of partitions, master boot records, logical drives, file
systems is very confusing to people who don't know about it.

We can all get smarter by trying to get the most accurate information about
it, and pass it on to each other.  Everything I know about the topic I
learned from the LILO documentation and the grub documentation.
