Sorry, been getting my subsystems confused, Lynx doesn't do that, Pine does that, version 3.95, built Nov 1 11:33:35 CST 1996. > > It is constructed that way because I post a address to my local here every > > Ahh, I just thought that you thought you needed to put the codes > in for the links to be clickable. Lynx is a fabulous way to cruise the WWW, version 2.6 allows you to turn [INLINE] images into clickable links which causes the Download feature to activate. And no, Lynx doesn't render _any_ URL's unless they're properly setup HTML, (bummer), but will display the text file as formatted and you can always use the 'G'o command to manually enter the URL. I tend to edit the file beforehand and add the HTML coding myself, probably more effort than using the 'G'o command, but has the added convience of not having to reenter it at a later date. ;) Oh, something else neat, I found that 2.6 retrieves .gz files, uncompress's them, then display's them in their native format if it's a recognizable format. Found this by accident, I clicked on something I think is called 'hacker_jargon.info.gz' and instead of retrieving it as a application/zip, it did what it did above! Neat! Compress your HTML files into .gz and save bandwidth! (though I don't think this will become a standard, no thanks to frames. UGH!) A Christian Web Site! The Light . A neat place to visit. HotSpot .
