You are, of course, right, namely because the first language I learned is assembly, and golden rule one is, write as little as possible to get the job done without sacrificing safety. As an example, I got interested in a program's disk usage and wrote a TSR which would trap INT21's and see if it was a disk access. If yes, it dumped the registar contents and return address to the printer, else it jumped to the original entry point for INT21.
