It gives the number of participating users who used the application during the last 30 days. It seems fair to call them active users. There are of course users who use geda less often. But all boundaries are fuzzy anyway. > Debian: > > pcb: https://qa.debian.org/popcon.php?package=pcb votes for pcb-common: about 150 https://qa.debian.org/popcon-graph.php?packages=pcb-common&show_vote=on&want_legend=on&want_ticks=on&from_date=&to_date=&hlght_date=&date_fmt=%25Y-%25m&beenhere=1 > gaf: https://qa.debian.org/popcon.php?package=geda-gaf votes for geda-gschem: about 220 https://qa.debian.org/popcon-graph.php?packages=geda-gschem&show_vote=on&from_date=&to_date=&hlght_date=&date_fmt=%25Y-%25m&beenhere=1 > Ubuntu: they don't seem to have a fancy web ui for searching, so here (...) > #rank name inst vote old recent no-files > 9075 geda-gschem 27751 58 27654 21 18 > 10453 pcb 20273 27 12154 1 8091 > 10890 pcb-gtk 18203 45 18137 5 16 Interestingly, geda seems significantly more popular between Debian users. Even more so, if we consider the amount of participants. In Debian about 186 000 systems contribute to the statistics. While this already seems impressive, Ubuntu boasts 2.7 Million participating installs. This suggests that active geda users are about 30 times more likely to use Debian than the average linux user. ---<)kaimartin(>--- -- Kai-Martin Knaak tel: +49-511-762-2895 Universität Hannover, Inst. für Quantenoptik fax: +49-511-762-2211 Welfengarten 1, 30167 Hannover http://www.iqo.uni-hannover.de GPG key: http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?search=Knaak+kmk&op=get
