On the PC that's broken, I'm running KUbuntu in a virtual machine (virtualbox). I just disabled 3d acceleration on the guest os, and now it work! Though I do get the following error: OpenGL Warning: Failed to connect to host. Make sure 3D acceleration is enabled for this VM. On Thu, Nov 15, 2012 at 2:06 PM, Peter C.J. It uses OpenGL (for 2D acceleration), rendered inside a GtkGLExt widget. It= sounds to me like your 3D driver may be causing problems.

Do you have any issues with other 3D software, or just PCB? What is your gr= aphics card, distro and currently installed driver?

I had a machine here at work today which displayed PCB's viewport compl= etely black until I upgraded the proprietary NVIDIA driver to the latest ve= rsion.

Best wishes,
