Then, I make the desired changes (moving pins, adding pins, deleting pins, renumbering and/or relabeling pins, device attribute, graphical changes, etc.). When I am happy with the result, I open the .sym file in a text editor and clean up any straggling bits (slotdefs, etc). If I "reload recent" the file in gschem, I ignore the "file has changed" warning and load it anyway. The entire process takes as little as 5 minutes for simple changes - up to 1/2 hour for a complete rework. I always save the result to my private library - not the system libraries. gsymcheck can help catch errors. Stephen
