I created two test pcbs. test.pcb has a square 1" x 1" top layer copper. I then created a line, selected it and moved it to the silk layer (layer 9). Now test.pcb has a 1" x 1" square of copper with a line on the silkscreen layer. test-1.pcb has just the 1" x 1" layer of copper on the top layer. Then I opened test.pcb in a text editor and copied the silk layer (layer 9) polygon into the silk layer of test-1.pcb. I save the file and closed it. When I open test-1.pcb the line (polygon) silk layer is not visible. Below is my silk layer: Layer(9 "silk") ( Polygon("clearpoly") ( [40.00mil 120.00mil] [1130.00mil 120.00mil] [1130.00mil 980.00mil] [40.00mil 980.00mil] ) ) I then closed out of pcb and opened test-1.pcb in a text editor and the polygon definition is in there.
