I am using gschem basically only to draw schematics, I'm not going to
do any circuit design or PCB layout from it.

I seem to quite frequently need symbols which are just basic symbols
but with an extra connection pin.  Is there any easy way to do this or
should I just copy the symbol and add a pin to make a custom symbol of
my own?

A typical case is one I have just come across.  I'm drawing a circuit
which has a starter motor on it, this is a 'DC motor' but has the
starter solenoid built into it.  Thus it has the two main power
supplying connections but, in addition the one that energises the
solenoid.  So, is there any easy way to add a pin for this one-off use
of the DC Motor symbol or do I need to create a custom sysmbol?

I realise this is probably rather outside the normal way of using
gschem but it's much the nicest tool I've come across for drawing
schematics even when they are just for recording existing circuits
rather than electrical/PCD design.
