Tip: with pcb-rnd you don't need to keep a full cvs checkout of gedasymbols if you don't want to: you can configure the library paths so that it can build a cache and work directly from gedasymbols.org, downloading only the footprints you really use. Also works with edakrill. Pros: no need to have a full copy, no need to manually update. Cons: requires internet access (for updating the index or downloading new footpritns - old ones work from cache offline as well)
