Message-ID: User-Agent: Alpine 2.00 (DEB 1167 2008-08-23) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; format=flowed; charset=US-ASCII Reply-To: geda-user AT delorie DOT com Hi all, poll time; please answer each question with YES, NO or N/A. 1. have you ever tried xgsch2pcb? 2. do you use xgch2pcb? 3. do you plan to use any sort of graphical project manager in the future, such as xgsch2pcb or easyspice or genxproj? (please watch https://archive.org/details/genxproj-prealpha before answering this one) 4. if the answer is YES to 3, would you use it for schematics->PCB->gerber flow? (Please answer yes only if you mean actually installing and using a tool in practice, not just in theory) 5. if the answer is YES to 3, would you use it for schematics->sim or schematics->DRC or schematics->bom or any other shcematics->* flow? (Please answer yes only if you mean actually installing and using a tool in practice, not just in theory) Background/why I ask: I am going to roll a stable release of genxproj later this summer. It's a generic project manager, a superset of xgsch2pcb. It doesn't use dbus to communicate to the tools. Pcb-rnd still has optional support for dbus. I'd be more happy if I could get rid of it. AFAIK dbus in pcb (or pcb-rnd) is used only by xgsch2pcb. Before I decide about the removal, I want to have some data about how many of you use it. TIA, Igor2
