I have written a brief, pictorial howto describing how complex
footprints requiring ellipsoidal, cubic bezier and/or cubic spline
features can be achived by employing FidoCadJ to create and edit these
features.

FidoCadJ's recently acquired ability to export gEDA PCB / pcb-rnd
(.pcb) layouts allows these complex features to be converted to Line[]
primitives in layouts for use in gEDA PCB / pcb-rnd.

Further export to KiCad layouts via pcb-rnd's support for KiCad legacy
and s-expression file formats is also possible.
