You don't need to specific opinion for this obvious observation. GUI appearance is awful. It covers significant percentage of the screen with an poorly utilized area, so editing a PCB on my 1600x1200 monitor resembles loooking throgh a periscope. It's alomost literally scotch-tapd together with guile etc.And user is supposed to know that s**t in order to use it - how else to change track clearance or width ? On top of all that, all tools are grostesquely slow once schematic and board grow. Can anyone see themselves doing densely packed 6-layer board 20x20cm ? Many sorely needed options are missing and for whole lot of them user is expected to roll their sleeves and dig through PCB text file (?!?). Even working with polygons was up until yesterday verging on unuseable even for DIY user. Now it's just impractical for all but simplest purposes. It's expected for a PCB to be able to do good copper pour and remove isolated islands. here user is expcetd to draw holes manually, which until today didn't even work without screwing the board. These are just some tips of the iceberg, anything even approaching comprehensive list here would be way too long. I like it since it has Tango's direct style of approach. Implementation, though, is loong due for rework from the ground up. No amount of patching can save a leper. But, with a good lipstick and strong deodorant we can maybe push it through next costume ball without people calling morgue... On 27. 07. 2016 03:35, DJ Delorie wrote: >> Specifically him.
