I don=92t get all the whining about the state of gschem.

Gschem is *complete*. What I mean by that is that there is no circuit =
topology it cannot represent.

Gschem is *simple*. Using it is like walking around a small town where =
everything you need is a few steps away.

Gschem is *versatile*. My most recent schematic was a little daughter =
board for a Raspberry Pi. I=92ve also done big multi-board systems with =
thousands of components. ASIC designs with thousands of transistors =
(chips from one of these recently launched into orbit, where they =
performed very well). One recent project was a gschem->CUDA flow =

Gschem is *productive*. I=92ve drawn about 1000 schematics in gschem =
over 14 years. And the thing is, EE is a sideline to me (I=92m a =
physicist). I don=92t find I need to spend much time in gschem: when I=92m=
 designing I spend a lot more time in Chrome, looking up datasheets, =
pinouts, parts availability etc.

=46rom where I sit, the critical problems of gEDA lie in pcb. The =
=93show-stopper=94 is that pcb is *not* complete, and I see no prospect =
that it ever will be.
