You can try 1.9.2 tarball. However, many users installed latest
git version of geda-gaf without any problems. (I don't think
something changed recently, but who knows? I use '--disable-xorn'
on the ./configure stage, though.) I suspect your Debian
installation is slightly old? Wheezy and Jessie have guile 2.0.11.
Some related bugs might be fixed since previous 2.0.x versions.
