Hi,

Images are more intuitive than names.

Luciani's website use images to show the footprints. Maybe gedasymbols
can also do similar things.

* Generate the images on the fly.
  I think the troughput/bandwidth/computing load will be too high.
* Cache the images in the server.
  Also high bandwidth.

Another possible solution is the gEDA user can set his own local
server and has the image search function on the local sever instead of
the central one.
