Thank you very much!  That did the trick.  I downloaded pstoedit version 3.62, built it, ran a test Postscript file through it, loaded the DXF output file into Librecad and was able to edit the figure.  Your suggestion will save me a ton of time and get me an accurate result compared to re-creating the drawing from scratch.
