The old default was "top/bottom/signal1/2/3/4/5/6" but the new default is "top/ground/signal2/signal3/power/bottom/outline/spare". You can change these all you want, or just use the top/bottom layers and ignore the others. PCB knows which ones are which if you TAB to flip the board over.
