Since this fix by Roland Lutz the dialogue finally plays nice with sub directories. This small change in the UI is a big relief decently sized local library of symbols. Another recent boost of usability is the ability of the attribute editor to deal with several symbols at once. A third improvement concerns the ability to export SVG images.
