Yes. For a component (that is, for a symbol added on schematic) the
detached attributes being in the symbol are promoted and become attached
to the component.

Short answer: yes.
Long answer: I know at least two possibilities, one is using the slot=
attribute, which is simple, and second is using of scripts, which is
powerful and can be used for changing not only pinnumbers.

See the symbol attached. Add it to schematic and change its slot number.
I've intentionally made all slot related attributes visible.
