Showing a diff with addition differences and subtraction differences is plenty.
The diff would need to show symbols needed easily -- those symbol names
would come from a proper annotation of the layout.

GUI for that might be red highlighting for saying to delete something,
and greenish or whatever color for "reverse-rat-lines" of what needs adding.
