I would prefer to do it via C but I stirred the conversational pot to see if Scheme had some hidden benefit I was missing. So far I am unconvinced. The debate that has kicked up however has brought this list back a little of the banter it once enjoyed. I am going to be an optimist and think that all we need now is for someone to start coding something exciting and with any luck some of you who on the thread will participate.
