Bug or user error ? Message-ID: <20150308125251.GB3259@calypso> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.23 (2014-03-12) X-Virus-Scanned: ClamAV using ClamSMTP Reply-To: geda-user AT delorie DOT com Hello everybody, I am designing a really simple board and I cannot make the autorouter work properly, and I'm not sure this is a bug or some error on my part. I've uploaded my project here: http://popies.net/tmp/test.pcb It is a simple 2 layer board, and I made a ground plane (using a rectangle + thermals) on the solder side. The autorouter is not able to route all the rats on the component side, so it should make some vias and route the few remaining rats on the solder side (by clearing through the ground rectable). But it does not. (and yes, both layers and vias are visible). I am using PCB 20140316 on Ubuntu 14.10. Two remarks: - I have used a few years ago an older PCB version (20110918), and I didn't have this problem. - The toporouter on my test project ( invoked using :toporouter() ) works as intended: it does create the vias. The result is not perfect (some traces are too close to the thermals for example), but at least it does not exhibit the same problem as the standard autorouter. Am I doing something wrong or is the autorouter unusable (strangely I cannot find any bug concerning this, and since it has been almost one year this PCB version was released, I find this hard to believe...) Thanks! -- Stelian Pop
