I stand corrected... 1.9.0 is what I have currently in my path and it does has support for creating paths. (But not deleting points, or changing segments between curved and straight). Its been a while since I ran up to date git HEAD geda/gaf, as for a while things were in flux, and I needed more stability. (Now I rarely use that side of things).
