I can think of plenty of times when it would have been nice to have done that. Say you had some physics package that has a heating element made out of a flexible PCB. You might also want the flexible PCB to wrap around so that you can put the heater control on it. What about the mixed substrate pcbs where they do rodgers like stuff over / blended with kapton?
