Something like each record is a "key: value" line, such as: author: xy license: gpl desc: funny little touch sensor category: schematics pcb spice-simulation There could be a default name and if the project includes such a file it would override whatever automatic heruistics of the indexing for the given fields in that directory, maybe recursively. Much like robots.txt. At the end if the format is easy enough to use and your projects gets some momentum, people would start using it as the administrative overhead is smaller than the benefit of better indexing.
