The one forward-looking exception that I see in the list is gnet_hier_verilog.sh. Hierarchical netlisting is one of the gEDA frontiers, I think (see https://github.com/noqsi/gnet-spice-noqsi for another approach). But I don't use gnet_hier_verilog.sh because I don't use Verilog. Unfortunately, our ability to interoperate with other EDA is declining. This is not anything we can easily fix: the rest of the world is moving to opaque integrated environments. I am increasingly having to deal with situations where the customer's chosen layout contractor needs *schematics* in a proprietary format. They can't handle netlists anymore. Bad scene.
