You may see http://wiki.geda-project.org/geda:na_howto Older logic symbols often have attributes like less /usr/share/gEDA/sym/74/7400-1.sym T 500 2850 5 10 0 0 0 0 1 net=Vcc:14 T 500 3050 5 10 0 0 0 0 1 net=GND:7 Not all people love hidden pins -- and of course you will need a footprint with central pin with matching name/number.
