That is interesting and good to know! In 2009, when I did my large, still unfinished DSO board, I have not seen such shortcut problems, and my feeling was that PCB was working not bad at that time. But I had done no gerber check at that time. At least my board with the AVR 1287 in 2006/2007 war really OK.
