Me too :-)

First script I'd add, is a miniature one that just opens a text editor 
for the source of the *.sch or *.pcb file. Both GUIs lack a powerful 
search&replace dialog. A quick edit with my favorite text editor is 
often a lot less tedious than  visiting the components with the mouse.

Never experienced this. Currently, I work with pcb compiled from 
source about three months ago.
