I think the "clear view" is to have a separate subdirectory (perhaps
top-level, peer with doc, src, and lib) to hold plugins.  Come up with
some conventions, perhaps source file named after each file's only or
primary action, etc.

As for organization within the plugins area, I have no idea.  Pick
something :-)
