There is a new windows installer on bibo.iqo.uni-hannover.de:

This installer is 10 MB smaller than the versions before, because there 
is no need to include ghostscript for printing anymore. The new version
gschem prints via the usual windows print API. Special thanks to Peter 
Brett for getting this right.

* The binaries of this install were taken from DJ Delories snapshot page.

* On install, there is a config section. If you uncheck the modules that 
are marked as specific to IQO Hannover, you will get a complete generic 
install. The major difference is the set of symbols and footprints from
my section in gedasymbols.org .

* The new recursive search feature of gschem does not work due to file 
name problems. This is worked around with an explicit list of directories
in gafrc.

* PCB was compiled without openGL features because the gtkglext lirary 
would not build. So there is no transparency in the layout 

* Download speed should be ok. The server is mostly idle. Its internet
connection is rather good.

Please test with real world projects and report bugs.
