I have found 3D mode in pcb+gl branch to be really useful at times, and doing component placement and routing while using 3D mode to assist in good spacing and placement. It can be nice to have traces for this stuff, but maybe a "photo mode" is useful for other purposes like just making a realistic 3D rendering of the board. Regards, Colin
