However, I can offer my students to do some improvements to gEDA as their semestral project, if you (and they!) are interested. Can optimizers be applied to manually routed traced as well? The problem is that when I manually trace something, I have some freedom for modifying the layout. So it would be good if later the autorouter for singal-sized paths could ask me something like "can you move this via 100 mils to the right, please?"
