Sure. Every power supply board with UL or ETL listing needs
slots for isolation between volts and ground.  It provides surface
path distance to prevent conduction due to dust and salts in the air
collecting on pcb's. It's a probabalistic treatment for long years of
use not causing a fire hazard.
