That is a rather misleading statement, and unfair to the developers. Really, how many Free Software projects' developers will implement immediately every proposed feature? Developers of Free Software add features as they feel the desire to do so, or out of the kindness of their hearts for other people that want them. Actually, there have been MANY great improvements to the gEDA project in the past year or two. For instance, just off the top of my head, the following massive improvements in the last releases: - Antialiased graphics in gschem with Cairo engine - OpenGL support in pcb - pcb “Import Schematics” feature for integrated forward-annotation (this is REALLY a big improvement over gsch2pcb especially because when footprints are changed, they automatically update in-place in the board layout) - pcb native metric units with nanometer precision And there are tons more improvements available in the development line that will appear in the next release. Of course I still wish for some other features that gEDA still lacks, but as with all Free Software projects, you get MUCH MORE than you pay for. And the developers slowly but steadily improve gEDA, and it continues to be an extremely flexible and powerful tool, that in my opinion simply can't be beat. Regards, Colin
