Then found the "import::srcN" attribute in the docs. Then tried to do the ImportGUI() way of assigning those attributes. Scratched the itch and reported bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/pcb/+bug/934616 along with a patch. The patch lets ImportGUI() select multiple filenames and save the names to the .pcb file. The commit also lives in my pcb fork at http://repo.or.cz/w/geda-pcb/whiteaudio.git (whiteaudio branch) Have never hacked on the pcb code before, it was surprisingly easy to follow.
