Testing ------- Please test gschem, gnetlist, and the other tools to find any bugs. You will currently need to build gEDA/gaf from the 'stable-1.8' branch of the git repository: git clone git://git.gpleda.org/gaf.git git checkout origin/stable-1.8 ./autogen.sh ./configure # etc etc. You can find more information about the git repository on the wiki: http://geda.seul.org/wiki/geda:scm http://geda.seul.org/wiki/geda:gaf_building_git_version Hopefully I'll soon be able to find someone to persuade to host a 'traditional' tarball, for people who are less keen on git. :-) Translating ----------- If you are a fluent in a non-English language, please consider helping by translating gEDA into other languages. Two languages that we currently need particular help to update translations for are Japanese and simplified Chinese. If you haven't done this before, the easiest way is to use the translation web interface at: https://translations.launchpad.net/geda/stable-1.8 Unfortunately, its taking a while for the translation templates to be approved -- I'll post a follow-up when they appear. Note to our regular translators: a large number of strings changed in the last couple of days, so please do check if any revisions are needed. I am currently hoping that we will be able to make a 1.8.0 release in the next 2-4 weeks, depending on how quickly the translations get sorted out. ;-) Peter -- Peter Brett Remote Sensing Research Group Surrey Space Centre
