It's not `gfa', it is `gaf' -- `gEDA and friends'. Please use
proper names (gafrc) in order your system to behave correctly ;-)

... though your gschem tries to load the (gschem hook) module
having the %copy-objects-hook procedure which appeared in
1.9.2. Obviously, as it is not present in 1.8.2, gschem.scm is not
loaded and the subsequent errors are just the results of this
fault.

The reason, I believe, is in loading of cached guile files
produced as the result of compilation of the previous geda
installation. Hence, you can remove the guile cache stored in your
$HOME to force recompilation. Try:

  rm -rf ~/.cache/guile/*

and run gschem again.
